Avid Media Composer 2024

Through this online course you will discover the new interface of Avid Media Composer 2024. We will focus into the great news that this new version offers us.

The new Avid Media Composer makes editing work faster and more efficient, simplifies work, and improves workflows. We have a new project window from which to create and select projects more quickly and in a much easier way. We can navigate through a sequence for this, a map of the sequence has been created in the timeline and different colors have been assigned.

Avid has also improved the speed of workflows, through the Universal Media Engine (UME) that allows greater performance when working with the media directly from the camera.

Improves workability in ACES and gives output coverage to 15 new color spaces. They have also incorporated new presets for creating content for social media with 1: 1 or 9 × 16 proportions, among others. Avid 2024 is now compatible with the MacOS Big Sur operating system, and for those who work on Windows, they will be able to work with ProRes natively to reproduce, export, etc… in OP-Atom, MXF OP1a and MOV.

Avid Certified User

Avid.university offers a number of Media Composer certifications, validating user skills from novice to expert. The first of these certifications is the Avid Certified User for Media Composer, providing an industry recognized credential for both academic users and industry professionals.

To gain the title of Avid Certified User for Media Composer, you must take two foundational courses, Media Composer Fundamentals I (MC101) and Media Composer Fundamentals II (MC110), before sitting and passing the associated online certification exam.

Becoming an Avid Certified User for Media Composer verifies that you possess a fundamental understanding of and the capability to use Media Composer, together with a firm grasp of the core skills, workflows, and concepts of non-linear editing on the Avid Media Composer system.

While Avid does not certify the creative skills of the individual, the technical and operational skillset developed through this certification program is designed to qualify students to enter the workforce as post-production assistants, assistant editors, or video editors.

Achieving the certification status of Avid Certified Professional in Media Composer demonstrates the ability to use a wide range of advanced tools, including multi-camera and script-based editing, audio mixing and sound design, motion tracking and stabilization, combined with keys, mattes, and paint effects.

The Avid Certified Professional in Media Composer is the next level up in Media Composer certification, building on the skills and capabilities validated by becoming an Avid Certified User for Media Composer. Achieving the Avid Certified Professional in Media Composer certification demonstrates a higher level of efficiency by applying more advanced techniques and carefully designed workflows.

To gain the title of Avid Certified Professional in Media Composer you must first of all be an Avid Certified User for Media Composer.
